The original version of The History of Judo in Canada was published in 1998 by Glynn Arthur Leyshon to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Judo Canada. Nicolas Gill now offers an updated version including eveyrthing that happened in the last 20 years in this still little-known sport.
This new book contains the biographies of 26 heroes of the tatami and 22 pioneers and builders, as well as severalchapters on Canadian and international refereeing, the evolution of judo for women, moving the National training Center to Montreal, and the Canadian kodansha registry.
We have also added the list of all international tournaments hosted in Canada until now, and receords of all the medallists. The last chapter contains thoughts on the future of Judo in Canada.
