Used mainly in the practice of Judo and sometimes Karate and other Budo, these belts are mainly instituted for educational purposes. These are intermediate grades awarded to children under the age of 16 to reward and keep them motivated while ensuring that their grade matches their level.
These belts are made of 100% cotton and have nine stitching lines for optimal strength and flexibility. The label represents the Obi kanji, which means "belt" in Japanese.
